Garden progress

Two beds dug and hoed, two frames completed:

Frames in place, our compost (mostly leaves still) ready to spread and incorporate:

Compost mixed into the top 4 or so inches of the tilled clay soil:

Organic humus, cow manure, garden soil, vermiculite, and peat moss mixed (in layers) in the beds:

We also moved some of the soil from the "old garden" to this spot beside the deck, which we might use to grow flowers:

Bubbles!

Taking full advantage of yesterday's gorgeous weather, our neighbor played with bubbles in his backyard. At first Teresa watched from our side of the fence - then she got to experience them first hand when he came over to share them with her!

The bubbles delighted her and enticed her to crawl on the grass (a first). But popping them was not enough - she wanted to wave the wand, too!

Teresa and the tape measure

She was bored, so I handed her something nearby. About 15 minutes later, I discovered her pulling out the tape like a pro!

Teresa's first time on a trampoline

She loved bouncing in her Jumpster and she loves dancing (both in our arms and on her own) - why wouldn't she love bouncing on the trampoline?

Garden Progress

We made great progress on putting in a garden last week. While David purchased materials and put together two raised bed frames, I measured out the beds and started digging up our dense clay soil.
